Christmas Traditions

One of the unique aspects of getting married is the combining of family traditions and creating your own traditions. While we have kept a few from our childhoods, we have created a new tradition that is now my favorite. Every year we make hot chocolate and put on our pajamas and go and look at Christmas lights. One year we drove around on the golf cart and quickly realized what a mistake that was, burr. It's a very simple tradition that doesn't cost much and yet we have a blast.

This year Isabella is really just starting to understand Christmas and what it is all about, including Christmas lights. Brett who prides himself on being part Griswold, loves Christmas lights and has passed his love to Isabella. She was so adorable as we drove around this year. "Ooh Christmas, hi Christmas, blue Christmas, rainbow Christmas, etc." She also sang Jingle Bells and Twinkle, Twinkle to all the Santas. On a side note, we now know that Isabella will not be accepting a Grammy award one day.

Having kids makes Christmas so much fun for us. I just love seeing the joy is her eyes over the simple things like drinking hot chocolate and looking at Christmas lights. I can't wait to see her face on Christmas morning! Here they are waiting to leave the driveway!

By the way, Mark didn't drink his hot chocolate. I just might not be the only one in the family that decide that chocolate is gross. I think he just might be mine as his sisters are addicts like Daddy.
