Two Are Better Than One

"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up." Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 This verse is my new motto for the next few weeks. I'm going to throw myself a pity party so get your party hat and dancing shoes ready.

Brett is working nights right now. I will take a half a second to acknowledge that this is difficult for him. Not only is he working at night, but he is also working all morning in the office trying to get new work. Half a second over! This means that I do not see my husband except at dinner. This leaves taking care of three kids to me alone. By the way if you ever though owning your own business would be great because you don't have a boss and set your own hours, I will set you straight.

It's been a few days and I'm already exhausted!!!! Not only is he not around, but I have to try and keep the kids quiet. Have you ever tried to keep 3 kids under 3 quiet? Yes you guessed it, it's impossible. We have to leave the house to really make this happen. Now add that I have to answer his phone which never stops ringing by the way. I find this more annoying than a chore because it interrupts my peace and quiet time. Oh and it never stops ringing!! Ugh!

So what have I learned after a few days of being a "single" mom? First-I am soooo not cut out for this. I may be strong enough to handle some things, but doing this whole parenting thing on my own is not something I'm strong enough for. Two-Military wives and single moms are amazing! I have no idea how they raise kids on their own. And three-Watching The Bachelor isn't as much fun when there is no one to hear my judgemental and sarcastic comments.

  1. You need to get him a "white noise machine"...just sounds like an air conditioner or loud fan...and amazing at blocking out noises so you (well, he) can sleep...and you don't have to try to keep 3 kids quiet.

we're total addicts...we have 3 machines...one in the boys room, one in our room and one as a back-up!
