Insult to Injury

I hate when life adds insult to injury. Brett is on nights, which stinks. And he is having to work more than he planned during the day because the superintendent during the day is a jerk and he can't seems to make up his mind. Allow me to rant explain.

When Brett leaves in the morning at 3am, the night superintendent signs off on where the equipment is stored and the location of the cones/trench plates/dirt. Then at 5:45am, I'm woken up by the day super calling to complain about where everything is located. UGH!! Get your act together and quit waking up my family!

Add to this work drama, all three kids have colds and aren't sleeping very well. I feel like typing this is redundant since it feels like they have been sick for months. Oh wait they have! We haven't gone three weeks without someone in the house getting sick since November.

The good news is that Brett is off all weekend and I have a wonderful date night planned. Plus on Saturday I'm getting together with some MOMs for an egg stuffing/excuse to drink and hang out party. I can't wait! I need to relax and unwind this weekend in the worst way. Hopefully when Sunday rolls around I'll be ready for another week on single married mom duty.

  1. Ugh...I know how you feel. I am also a single married mom. My sweet hubby works 14 hours days Mon-Fri except for Tuesday when he only works until 4:00. Oh, to add insult to injury, he also works every other weekend!

I am thankful that my husband is willing and able to work such long hours so I can stay home with Ben and Emma but we sure miss him!!

  2. I'm looking forward to that party like nobody's business. :)

Stupid work. I feel like my supervisor keeps coming in at all the wrong times and work is making me feel like a failure lately. :(

    I need the weekend too.
