Egg Drop Recap

Last weekend my church put on an awesome event! Egg Drop 2011. If you live in the Las Vegas Area, you have quite possibly heard about this event. If you haven't, allow me to fill you in. It's a huge Easter Egg Hunt where the eggs are dropped from a helicopter. I know that's pretty awesome! But there is much more than just the egg hunt. There is face painting, bounce houses, vendor booths, kid craft activities, and live music.

We had a great time this year! (We had a great time last year too, in case you were wondering.) Isabella even managed to get some eggs. Last year she was so busy waving to Dean in the helicopter that she missed out on the eggs. Molly hunted eggs for everyone else. She refused to bring her basket onto the field and put her eggs in all the other kids' baskets. Mark wanted nothing to do with the event. He hated the heat, noise, helicopter, crowd, and his parents for dragging him there.

All in all it was a fun, free event for families. In Las Vegas where the focus is on gambling, hotels, and adult fun, it's a nice change of pace. And it blows my mind that a little portable church that meets in a high school can get 25,000 people to show up to an Easter event. If you live in Las Vegas, you need to come next year!

Take me home, take me home, take me home!

Waiting for the eggs to drop.

  3. That's a really neat idea of dropping the eggs on the field. That way the field gets just about evenly coated with eggs and all the kids have a chance to get some.
