Hmmm what could the Bonar family possibly be celebrating??? Oh just the little thing of Brett getting a job yesterday. You know, no big deal. We just actually have an income now. I wonder if we'll miss being a no income family?(That was sarcasm just in case you missed it.)
There are only two electrical companies in town that are hiring right now. He applied for a job on Sunday and was hired on Monday afternoon. And that's about as awesome as it gets.
It is such a relief! We both look like different people today. So much stress is gone and we just feel lighter. I didn't realize how stressed I was about this situation until he left for the interview. A little background on me, I'm a stress cleaner. Needless to say my house was spotless by the time the interview was over because I couldn't sit still. Think the whole house dusted, floor cleaned, kitchen scrubbed, and two closets cleaned out. Yep, I'm a little crazy.
We had a $25 gift card to On The Border that we were saving until he got a job, so we went out to celebrate. It's a good choice since my kids love chips and salsa. Well Molly pretty much just drinks the salsa and eats a chip every 10th dip.
We had a nice dinner and the kids ate their weight in rice and chips. This morning Brett took his drug test and as soon as that comes back he can start. They think it will be next Tuesday. Whooo hooo! Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes in the last few weeks. We feel very blessed that it only took one week for Brett to find a job.

I just love this picture!
Molly gets her own salsa bowl or we put some on her plate since she's a multiple dipper.
Don't mind my french kiss Daddy!
Oooo chips.

That's so wonderful that he was able to get a job so quickly! Shaun was on unemployment for eight months.

ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is awesome and definitely cause for celebration.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel. When my husband lost his job, we didnt think he'd ever find another one. He was on unemployment for a little over a year before he finally got another one, and he had to take a deep cut in pay. Even less than he was getting on unemployment! It's ok though, because he has been working for almost two years now, and with his raise, we are in a pretty good place. So, congratulations! I just dropped by from the hop.
