Where Does the Time Go?

Have you ever noticed that your day seems long but time flies by? How does that work? My day to day life feels long. There are many days when I'm just trying to get to bedtime. Those days feel looooong! But then I think back to an event 6 months ago and it feels like yesterday. I can't figure this one out.

An example of this. I was sick yesterday and I thought the day would never end. Since I was in bed for two days, all the kids wanted to do was climb on mommy. Who by the way was trying not to kill them for jumping on my stomach. Longest day in a long time! But then I look at this picture taken 15 months ago and it feels like yesterday.

Where did my little babies go? I remember picking out those outfits. I can even remember what Isabella looked like in that dress and that she gave us her first smile while wearing it.

Does anyone else experience this feeling?

  1. One of the best quotes I ever saw said, "The days are long, but the years are short."

I saw it in line checking out at the pediatrician's office. I needed that reminder.

  2. It's so true. The days drag on sometimes, but then I look at my kids and think, "Whoa! When did my BABIES turn into KIDS???"

  3. I totally undestand how you feel! Sometimes I feel that she is no longer the baby...but a toddler now! At nine months old she really is bigger and overpowering over the newborns we have been seeing!

  4. I feel like this too. Some days are just harder than others but overall time feels like it goes by way too fast. When I was younger it dragged by and never seemed to move fast enough but that's certainly not the case anymore.

  5. Yep, some days seem to drag on forever and then I can't believe I've been parenting for over a decade. How did that happen?
