What I Love About Me-Blog Hop

What I Love About Me! Blog Hop - Week 5
"The wise know the value of friendship, and that it is wisdom to be a friend to oneself too." -A.C. Grayling

Welcome to Week 5 of "What I Love About Me!" hosted by Twins Plus One, Three Times the Fun and Twingle Mommy!

Here's how it works -
Write a post about what you love about yourself this week and then add it to the linky list below. This is intended to be a time and place for each of us to stop criticizing ourselves for a few minutes and actually remind ourselves of the characteristics we are proud to own. So go ahead, look in the mirror, and see yourself through your loved one's eyes. Notice the beauty first. Here's your place to shine!

A few simple guidelines -
  • Please follow the two hostesses. If you are a new follower, please comment so we can follow you too! :)
  • We'd love it if you posted the button and the linky list, but it is not mandatory.
  • Feel free to link to your homepage or your specific "What I Love About Me!" post. We want this to be a fun, relaxing hop so we'll accept all links as long as they are family-friendly. Thanks!
  • The linky will be open all week so feel free to link-up on your own time!

I love that I am a stay at home mom. For me, it's the right choice. I went back to work for 10 days when my maternity leave was up for Isabella, it was a very rough 10 days. I was miserable taking care of other kids instead of my own child. But I'm really glad that I went back for those 10 days so I don't have to wonder if I would be happier at work.

I love that we have a routine during the week, but nothing is set in stone. If the kids are restless, we can head out to the park or go to the museum. Or when someone is sick, we can watch a movie on the air mattress in the family room and do quiet art projects. And it is pretty awesome when I get to hang out with my other mommy friends that stay home too.

Now it is hard some times, and there are days when Brett gets home that I just can't take being around them for one. more. second! But these days happened to me when I was working, so I figure it's a wash.
I miss teaching sometimes, but I really like being at home with my kiddos. Plus I feel like I'm still using my education by teaching my kids. We have circle time almost every day and Isabella and I work on writing when M&M are asleep. I also have tons of craft ideas from my teaching days and we go to the library for art and storytime. So I'm not being paid to teach, but I am still teaching. Now if anyone would like to pay me for staying at home, I wouldn't turn them down.

What do you love about yourself this week?

  1. I have to say that I am really loving staying home with my kids this summer and I wish it could last longer. However, I also love to work. I feel lucky to be a teacher for that reason - it's nearly the best of both worlds.

  2. That would be the best of both worlds being home with your babies and still teaching like you love!! I would be lying if I didn't say I was jealous! :)

  3. I love being able to work from home and be with the kids. I don't get as much sleep since I work after the kids are in bed but I wouldn't have it any other way.

  8. The older my babies get, the more I wish I could be at home with them. In the early days, I enjoyed the break. Now, they just seem to be doing something new every minute. They are more fun to take out.

Now if I could just get my husband to come around to my way of thinking...

  9. These are all the reasons I wanted to stay home with our girls! Unfortunately, it wasn't in the cards. I seem to be suffering from the same problem as championm2000 above!
Great list! Found you through Elena's "Things I Like About Me" link-up. So cool that you are hosting one, too!
