What I Love About Me-Blog Hop

What I Love About Me-Blog Hop
Welcome to Week 9 of "What I Love About Me!" hosted by Twins Plus One, Three Times the Fun and Twingle Mommy!

Here's how it works -
Write a post about what you love about yourself this week and then add it to the linky list below. This is intended to be a time and place for each of us to stop criticizing ourselves for a few minutes and actually remind ourselves of the characteristics we are proud to own. So go ahead, look in the mirror, and see yourself through your loved one's eyes. Notice the beauty first. Here's your place to shine!

A few simple guidelines -
  • Please follow the two hostesses. If you are a new follower, please comment so we can follow you too! :)
  • We'd love it if you posted the button and the linky list, but it is not mandatory. The button code is on my left sidebar.
  • Feel free to link to your homepage or your specific "What I Love About Me!" post. We want this to be a fun, relaxing hop so we'll accept all links as long as they are family-friendly. Thanks!
  • The linky will be open all week so feel free to link-up on your own time!

Warning-This post was written on very little sleep and tons of caffeine and a little wine. My poor little Isabella woke up puking at 2:22am (I loved this time frame enough to rememeber) throwing up. Why don't kids get sick during the day? So I was up most of the night last night with a sick kiddo and she was the second to succumb to the stomach flu so I'm waiting for the third shoe to drop.

Without any more stalling-What I love about me......

I love the unexpected moments in motherhood that no one prepares you for. (Or tells you about because then you wouldn't have kids.)

Like last night when Isabella was done being sick, we snuggled into bed and watched Dora. Even though I was tired and oh so not impressed that she was sick in the middle of the night (again) I loved having that little girl resting in my arms. It was so sweet and then the cherry on my sour ice cream sundae was when she looked up at me and said "I love my Mommy, she takes care of me." My heart melted.
The girls watching TV this morning. One good thing about being sick is the TV right?

Or when Mark took a dive off the couch and the huge tears came out. I felt so bad that I couldn't save him and the guilt set in. (Darn that mom guilt) And then my little guy looked up at me and smiled his big huge goofy smile.

It's those small moments of love that no one can prepare you for that I love most about being a mom. No one told me that kids only get sick in the middle of the night before I had kids or that they fall 10,000 times before the age of two. And while it's a pain to be up in the middle of the night, I just love having those sweet moments with my kids.

So what are you loving about yourself this week?

  1. You are so right. The other day, I felt so bad because I think Ky spent half the day in time out, but at the end of the night he said, "I have a nice Mommy. You're a nice Mommy." I almost cried.

  4. I really like the idea of listing what we like because a lot of the times we concentrate on the opposite.

I actually came via the alexa blog hop... so glad that I did! This is a great post!
