Isabella's 1st Day of Preschool

Today was Isabella's first day of preschool. I was excited and she was jumping up and down excited about starting school. Of course I had to document the day with lots of pictures. We started 30 minutes before we left since my subject tends to decide at the worst possible moments to refuse to take a picture.

She's showing me her backpack.

Of course she picked out a Dora backpack!

Hanging up her About Me T-shirt.

I took a quick picture of circle time before we left.

They start their morning with circle time. Her teacher told all the kiddos to go sit on their carpet square for circle time. I do circle time at home complete with "magic carpet squares" for the kiddos to sit on. Molly ran over got a square and sat down for circle time. She was very upset when I told her we had to leave.

Isabella is in an outdoor preschool which I love!  She's going to spend years stuck inside for school so getting to spend two years outside sounds great to me. All parents are required to volunteer one day a month. (I would have loved that when I was teaching!)  So it's going to suck on Thursday during my parent participation day since we have a huge heat wave going on right now. But next month it will be nice and cool!

So how did it go? She had a great time! Her teacher said that she kept to herself most of the day. That's not surprising since she is just like her Daddy and she takes a while to warm up. When I picked her up, she said that she loved school. The only details I got about her day was what she ate for lunch. Thanks kid, I packed your lunch, those details I know. I guess I'll find out on Thursday what her day is like!

For the record, I didn't cry or get even a tiny bit teary eyed. I wish I could say the same for her Daddy.

  1. I'm so glad she had a nice first day of preschool!! I'm so looking forward to actually having my students start now (still nervous, but excited too). :)

  2. She is super cute!!!

    New follower!

  3. So adorable. I always got sad on the first day of school. A kin of sad and happy all at once. I really don't like it now that I am a grandmother. So much less time to spend together.
Just stopping by to say hello I already follow.

  4. Good for you! No tears. As for daddy...that's sweet! :)

Can't wait to hear all about your participation day....

  5. An outdoor pre-school?! I've never heard of that, but that's such an awesome idea. I would have loved that when I was a kid! I'm glad she had a good time--she looks so cute and excited in those pictures. :)
