When I was a teacher, I bought several bottles of hand sanitizer. I was very aware that kids don't know how to cover their noses/mouth when they sneeze or cough and that a Kindergartner's hand washing skills are not the best. So I dispensed the hand sanitizer after every bathroom break and sneeze. So needless to say, I went through a lot of hand sanitizer.
I was sent a bottle of Prefense to review. I was intrigued by the fact that one pump of the hand sanitizer lasts through 24 hours of hand washing. I also liked that there is no alcohol in Prefense. As luck would have it, it came in the mail after everyone got over the flu. I really wish it would have arrived one week earlier so I could have saved my hands from the 100s of hand sanitizer pumps.
• Prefense is silica based which means it doesn’t dry out your hands like traditional alcohol sanitizers. It actually smooths and softens your hands. You can totally see this when you apply it!
• Prefense protects against staph, strep, E.coli, drug resistant MRSA strains, and more. We fight germs that other hand sanitizers can’t.
• Because “one spray lasts all day” our 1.5 oz Prefense Foaming Hand Sanitizer offers 120 applications, costing only $.08 per day, compared to $1.20 per day with alcohol hand sanitizers.
I really like the feel and smell of the product, as in no strong alcohol smell. (Duh, since there in no alcohol) I used it before I left for Isabella's preschool on Thursday. I thought it was just a good precaution since I was going to be around 3 and 4 year olds all day. And yes, I gave Isabella a dose as well. That kid puts everything in her mouth, including her thumb when she gets tired. It really does go on smooth and unlike other hand sanitizers it didn't dry out my hands. And I like that I didn't have to worry about it completely drying before Isabella touches anything.
You can buy Prefense on their website or through Amazon. The bottles start at $6.99 which is a great deal since one pump lasts all day.

I have OCD so my hands have to be clean at all times (just part of my crazy) so my skin is crazy dry. I also deliver mail and it's so dirty. This would be great for helping me give my skin a break from so much soap and water.
