Rock N Learn Giveaway and Discount Code

Like most (honest) moms, I let my kids watch TV. I cannot cook dinner with three kids climbing up my legs and begging to be held. So every night when I start dinner, I turn on the TV so they will stay out of the kitchen (mostly) and entertain themselves (usually) so I don't lose my mind while I cook. As a former teacher, I like them to watch something that at least teaches them while they are glued to the TV.

I was sent Colors, Shapes, & Counting DVD to review and giveaway from Rock N Learn. Rock N Learn started in 1986 with a goal to put educational material with music that kids are interested in hearing. They have over 50 titles available that cover your kids from pre-school to test prep.

My opinion

I will admit that it is the little things in life that make me happy. And I am very happy that all I have to do is put in the DVD and it plays without me hitting anything else. I call this a timesaver, but let’s face it; it's really more about my impatience.

The video says for ages 2-5 and I think they are right on the money. My three year old loves this DVD and my 1 year old twins were only a little interested in it. The first time we watched it, they lost interest in 10 minutes. But the more I turn it on, the longer they watch. I'm sure if they were older, they would watch the whole DVD like Isabella.

I like that the music is upbeat and makes the kids dance. And since Isabella knows the basic shapes, colors, and numbers I was very happy that there is new stuff for her to learn. The movie has concepts like pentagon and mixing colors to make new colors in it. I know how important it is to reinforce old concepts while learning new concepts.

  2. I like the Earth Science DVD. It is geared towards older children and would be a good fit for my oldest granddaughter. Plus, I like that it's a science DVD. Media relating to that curriculum is rare.
