Friday Confessional 1/20

I confess....
My daughter arranged her hippo and Molly's puppy like this yesterday morning. Brett had me go back in the house to see it and I just had to take a picture. I'm still laughing.

I confess....
Brett is on swing shift and it's killing me. He's never home and I'm very tired of taking care of these kiddos by myself.

I confess....
I let them go outside three days in a row to play in the sprinklers and stomp in the puddles made by said sprinklers. They have so much fun and come in covered in mud so they go straight into the tub.

Yes Isabella's wearing her flower girl dress to play in the mud.

I confess....
I read a magazine while they splash in the tub. We can kill 30 minutes with them playing in the tub while I sit there and read.

I confess....
The routine of going outside to play and then play in the tub kills about 1 1/2 hours in the afternoon. This makes my afternoon/evenings a little better.

I confess....
I'm sick of Brett working swing shift. It made me miss my LVMOMs meeting and it's getting old being home alone every night.

I confess....
I'm bitter since he was supposed to have today off, but now he's working. I planned a fun family outing for today and we had to cancel it.

I confess....
OK fine if you add together the fact that I had to miss my monthly meeting with my MoM friends and our day trip planned I'm more than a little bitter.

I confess....
I will cuss you out if you tell me "at least he has a job." I'm tired of hearing it and it doesn't make taking care of my kids all alone any easier. Imagine how you would feel if you were overwhelmed with motherhood and I said "well at least you don't have a special needs kid" or "well I have twins so your life is easier than mine." Yeah, you know you would want to cuss me out, it's why I don't say condescending things like that.

I confess....
But sometimes I think them. (Especially around my friend a SAHM with 1 kid who is in school full time who complains to ME, not around me but to ME that she's so overwhelmed with motherhood. Really?)

I confess....
So I give you permission to think it, but not to say or write it.

What are you confessing????

  2. That picture is hilarious! Sometimes my boys will say or do something that could totally be taken the wrong way if they weren't innocent little children. Sorry you're overwhelmed. That's a tough stage with three kids so young and then having your hubby gone. Hugs to you!

  3. I completely know what you mean! My husband works days and I work swings. We only see each other on the weekends. No fun!
