A Year with Jesus-Book Review

I love daily devotional books! They are quick daily reads which is important since I have very little time to devote to daily reading. And it starts my day off right by immersing myself into God before I start my day. Or on busy mornings, it's a great way to end my day.

A Year With Jesus is a book that is very easy to get through and each daily devotion is one page long. The book is set up into chapters so you don't have to go from start to finish, you can jump around. The chapter Patience and Impatience is my favorite chapter so far. I am not a very patient person by nature and it is something that I'm working on. It has been very good for me to read about the importance of patience.

Here is a list of the chapters in the book
Love and Hate
Truths and Lies
Arrogance and Humility
Friends and Enemies
Belief and Disbelief
Patience and Impatience
Deserved and Undeserved
Good and Evil
Fidelity and Treachery
Life and Death

In each chapter you will find Jesus' words as He speaks to each topic. The one thing that I didn' like about the book was the lack of discussion questions or thought provoking questions. I like books that have me read and then dig a little deeper into the reading with questions. There are no questions in this book. I would recommend that you mark the entries that you have read in the table of contents if you do go out of order like I did. With 365 entries, it's easy to forget what you have read.

Overall, I thought it was a good book and it will help you grow in your relationship with Christ.
