Back Pain and Cowards Confessions

Photobucket

I confess....
Brett's back went out last Saturday night. He wasn't doing anything, he just stood up and collapsed.

I confess....
I feel a little bad that I didn't realize how much pain he was really in since I assumed he was just being a big baby and needed to suck it up.

OK FINE

I told him that I was going to kick him in the ovaries if he didn't figure out a way to get into the car so I could take him to the chiropractor.

I confess....
I was more compassionate once I realized that he was in pain and I called in reinforcements to get him into the car to go to the hospital.

I confess....
I wanted to take pictures of him so badly since it is a little funny (now) that we had to load him onto a Costco table to get him out of the house. Think of it as a redneck back board and my attempt to avoid an ambulance ride.

I confess....
I am so unbelievably grateful for my family and 2 friends for coming to my rescue and helping us. I was able to go to the hospital with Brett and have someone with the kids all day Sunday and Monday which is a huge blessing.

I confess....
I so do not want to get that hospital bill since we have a $5,000 deductible and I know it's going to be way more that $5,000.

I confess....
One day when I recover from my week I will blog about this whole ordeal, but right now it's too overwhelming to write about.

I confess....
This ordeal made me realize that this is the first time in our marriage that I was the one in the waiting room waiting for answers. I was so worried about him. Now I have an idea of what Brett has gone through when I've had my emergency surgeries. (Two in one year, he's a lucky guy huh?)

I confess....
It made me think about marriage and the roles that we assign ourselves. And of course I had to blog about it in 50/50 Marriage. I loved the comments the good and the bad but I wonder why the people with the most negative things to say don't have the balls to write it on my page. Instead the cowards email me their comments since they don't want it out there for all the world to see.

I confess...
Enjoy your 15 seconds of fame anonymous....

Allison-I cannot believe that you would tell women to do all the work and wait on their husbands hand and foot. (I didn't dummy read the WHOLE post) Just because you want to be a pathetic stepford wife and bow down to your husband's every command doesn't mean the rest of us do. (I'm sorry that you're too stupid to read my whole post) I hate women like you! You're trying to send us back to the 50s when we had no rights. (You should really read a history book since women had the right to vote in the 50s making this argument beyond silly)

I confess....
I think this woman intended to hurt my feelings and make me mad. But, I laughed my butt off! I'm still laughing! You tell me that you hate me? Am I supposed to care? Well I don't and I pity you for feeling the need to respond to a post without reading it.

I confess....
And calling me a stepford wife is about the funniest thing I've ever heard.

  1. So sorry to hear about your hubby! It's always hard to know when they are being big babies or when they are seriously hurt. I really hope that everything is okay and that they can fix up his back!
Whoever wrote you such a negative and nasty message needs to first get some balls to post it in public, and secondly reread your post. I understand not agreeing, but if you don't agree say so in a civil and respectable manner.

  2. Doesn't that just suck when you tell your husband to man up and then you realize he really is sick or in pain. Good thing it has NEVER happened in our house...NOT!! Hope all is better now!
