Friday the 13th Confessions

Photobucket

I confess....
The weather all week has sucked. Think hot as hell, as in 110, 112, 114, 114, and then a cool 108 yesterday.

I confess....
Thankfully we are getting some rain today and it cooled off before the kids and I went completely stir crazy. I know I'm a little wacky, but I don't go outside when it's over 110, unless it's to someone's pool.

I confess....
Speaking of pools......We went to a community group pool party on Tuesday. I bought the girls floaties for it since taking three kids under five isn't as much fun as it sounds when no one can be in the pool alone. Molly took full advantage and was swimming around and having a great time. Isabella wanted nothing to do with swimming alone. But it did make her brave enough to get on a raft.

I confess....
My girls crack me up sometimes. They came in the house and took a plate of Cheerios outside to have a morning snack. Mark told on them and I couldn't help myself, I had to take a picture of them.

I confess....
Last weekend we went to Brett's parents' house in Southern California. The break from the heat was nice and we went to an Angels game. We had a great time!

The guy behind us was beyond obnoxiousduring the game. Now we'll remember him forever!

I confess....
On our way home from California we had to stop for a few potty breaks. This is what they charge in the middle of the desert for gas. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I confess....
My girls aren't napping very well these days but on the flip side they are sleeping in a little later in the morning. I'm trying to decide what are worse short naps/no naps and an extra hour of sleep in the morning or nice long naps but getting up earlier.

I confess....
Every afternoon I want the nap, every morning I want the extra sleep. There is just no pleasing me.

I confess....
Brett got hurt at work this week. Isabella is a little worried about him. And yesterday she brought me her Angels monkey and told me that he fell off the bunk bed ladder and needs to go see Dr. Downey so her monkey can get 5 staples in his head. Minnie Mouse and her imaginary brother Leo also needed to get 5 staples in their heads. I love that kid!

I confess....
I got my free drink at Starbucks today. It was delicious, and my treat after dragging three kids though Albertsons.

I confess....
I like to do birthday party themes. But with boy/girl twins it's kind of hard to come up with a theme that works for both of them. Last year I did Thing 1 and Thing 2 as their theme. I'm already trying to brainstorm some ideas to suggest to them. I would love to hear your suggestions!

What are you confessing this week?

  1. We just did Minnie & Mickey but that may be a little old for them --- I have always loved "Bugs and Butterflies". Easy to do decorations, crafts, etc

  2. I'm so jealous of the free Starbucks! Good for you! And yes, you do deserve a treat for dragging 3 kids out on your own. You also deserve a treat for taking 3 kids to the pool alone. I'm still too nervous to take mine on my own.

As for the birthday suggestions (I LOVE birthday party themes)I'm not sure what they are into, but you could pretty much use any Disney movie. There's always a princess and a prince so you could do girly princess things and manly prince things. There's also Dora and Diego. These are just suggestions off the top of my head. If you give me more specific likes/dislikes I could come up with more :)
