Are you a Pinterest addict? I spend entirely too much of my time on Pinterest. I love finding new recipes and seeing all the cool things that crafty people do. I am not crafty so I like to pretend that I'll actually make that cool mod podge photo vase or the DIY playhouse. But the recipes, those I make on a regular basis. And last night I had my first Pinterest fail! I don't even now if the word failure is right, since the meal was so horrible that there really are no words describe it.
Here was the original picture from Pinterest. Now doesn't that spicy sausage pasta look tasty? You want to make that delicious looking dish right?
HA! Too bad for me, this is what the real dish looked like.
Is it just me or does that look like pasta soup to anyone else? I would like to know how it is possible that someone who loves to cook and does it well (in my humble opinion of course) used the same ingredients with drastically different results. Although now that I looked at the picture again I noticed that the recipe calls for penne pasta and that is NOT penne pasta.
I decided to serve the pasta anyway since I didn't have a backup plan. Sadly, the pasta looked better than it tasted. I took a few snapshots of the kids eating it.
Mark is all boy and he ate it anyway.
I asked Molly to try it and the pasta was out of her mouth before I could get the pic.
And this was Isabella's assessment of the pasta.
So I can join the ranks of all the Pinterest users who made a total failure. What a joy it is to be in that club! I'm making another Pinterest recipe tonight. Here's hoping that tonight's dinner goes better than last night's dinner.
