Confessions After 3 Weeks Without Processed Food

I confess...
I didn't think I was going to make it through week 3 of not eating processed foods. After the zoo debacle all I wanted was a big fat juicy cheeseburger and fries. I almost caved, but Brett and I were able to stand strong!

I confess....
The longer I'm off caffeine, the less I want to go back to my morning coffee habit. Turns out that I wake up on my own just fine. I know come Fall, the cooler weather will change my mind.

I confess....
I only have one week to go! I'm not going to go back to my old eating habits, but I am going to add back in some of the foods I've really missed. Diet Dr. Pepper and I have a date next Saturday! I know this is technically not a food, but oh I miss thee!

I confess....
It only took me living in North Carolina for 3 months to finally join a gym. I am totally out of shape! How did that happen so fast?

I confess....
Yesterday I was planning on taking my favorite class Body Combat. If you have the chance to take it, you need to. It's intense and you get all of your aggression out. Plus it burns about 700 calories in an hour, that's my kind of workout.

I confess....
I had a handyman at my house so I didn't get out the door in time for Body Combat so I took Body Flow instead.

I confess....
I am not a flow kind of girl, I'm a kick butt combat kind of girl! I wanted to laugh the whole time!!! (I didn't, but it was hard) Every time the instructor talked about our energies and the healing power of breathing I almost lost it. Don't get me wrong, part of it was hard. The Pilates part kicked my butt. But it wasn't the kind of workout I like. I want to get all sweaty and gross when I workout. I'm aware that it makes me a little weird.

I confess....
It feels good to be back at the gym! And the break from the kids is nice too.

Who Us???

I confess...
For the first time all three kids outgrew their shoes at once and I don't have any hand me downs. (one reason moving sucks, I lost my hand me down hook up) Our tax free weekend began today so I headed out to Target to get the kids some new shoes, socks, and underwear for school.

I confess....
I LOVE watching my girls pick out shoes. Mark gets into it a little but my girls get so excited and their little faces just light up! They both picked out a pair of Hello Kitty sparkle shoes. I'm not sure they'll be able to wait 3 weeks until school starts to wear them.

I confess....
I'm going to finish their back to school shopping this weekend while I don't have to pay taxes. I figure I have to buy it anyway so I may as well save on the taxes!

What are you confessing this week?

  2. LOVE your confessions. And good for you for sticking to your no-processed food goals, but also good for your for admitting that you will enjoy some of your favorite treats again. I'm a firm believer that life is all about balance, and you, my dear, are finding the balance.

  3. You're doing awesome on cutting out the processed foods! I cut out the Diet DP while I was pregnant and now I can't drink it. I've actually found I drink soda less regularly now that I'll only drink the real thing. Body Combat is something I'm definitely going to check out - 700 calories in an hour is amazing!

    1. Thank you! It's funny, when I was pregnant I could give up anything without a problem. But now that I'm not thinking about a baby's heath, I don't have the same drive and willpower. Body Combat is a great class since you leave wiped out and with all your aggression long gone!
