Confessions on Staggered Entry

I confess....
Yesterday my oldest had her staggered entry day for Kindergarten. Staggered entry is an amazing idea for education. All the kids are split up and attend one day the first week of school. On their day, each child is assessed for skills and behavior and then the teachers split them according to the results.

I confess....
Here she is at pickup. I think her smile says it all!

I confess....
I hate how kids clam up about their day when you ask them about it. All I heard about was the fire drill and how she didn't have enough time to finish lunch since she was talking to her friends. I almost died of shock over the lunch information.

I confess....
It would be far too easy if Isabella and Mark had the same staggered entry day. Mark went today and when I tried to take his picture he said no! He wouldn't take his picture where Isabella did since he was a boy. I'm going to need a map to follow that logic.

I confess....
I was surprised when Mark got clingy this morning when I dropped him off. He's been talking about school nonstop and kept asking me to leave this morning.

I confess....
Molly is taking school starting the hardest. When Isabella was at school she asked me to go pick her up about 10 times. As soon as she saw Isabella, Molly asked her if she missed Mark and Molly.

I confess....
I was relieved when Isabella answered "why of course" since I knew it would hurt Molly's feelings if she said no. But seriously, what 5 year talks like that?

I confess....
Later Isabella told me that she didn't really miss us while she was at school. She said it like she was confessing a huge secret. It was pretty sweet.

I confess....
We went and met Isabella's teacher today. I made quite the impression on everyone when Molly got down and her hands ans knees and pretended to be a puppy. AND THEN started licking a box! Once I corrected her gross behavior Mark decided to do it too.

I confess....
The worst part about having twins is their monkey see monkey do behavior!

I confess....
I wonder how many laughs that story will get in the teacher's lounge?

I confess....
I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend before the school year officially starts on Tuesday.

My lazy, crazy days of summer are almost over!

What are you confessing this week?
