Delicious and Quick Dinners with Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits


By now you are in the thick of a new school year and your kid's activities which makes getting dinner on the table more difficult. In my house Tuesday and Wednesday are our crazy nights with the kids' activities. Typically on Tuesday I need to make something ahead of time that we can pop in the oven after we get home from dance. Not only does it get dinner on the table faster, but I can do all the prep work while my kids are not around.

On Wednesday, my kids go to Awanas which means mom and dad get a date night so I make something just for the kids on Wednesday. It's nice having one night a week with a built in date night! My kids like that Wednesday night has become a "kid meal" night. I make something that is fast and will appeal to my kids. Yesterday I made some grilled cheese sandwiches using Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits which fit my criteria perfectly.


This is the simplest recipe and my kids loved it! All you have to do is roll out the biscuits and cook them on a griddle for a few minutes on each side. Then treat the Grands! as bread and make a grilled cheese. The Grands! Grilled Cheese Sandwiches come together in about 15 minutes and they are the perfect solution to running out of bread. When I saw this recipe it was like a light bulb went off in my head; why hadn't I thought to use biscuits for sandwiches before? It's an easy solution if you're out of bread or you just want to mix it up and make your grilled cheese different. My kids love Grands! and they ate these sandwiches up and asked for seconds. 


There are several recipes on Pillsbury's website using the Grands! Biscuits that are ready in less than 30 minutes. There are so many ideas on how to incorporate biscuits into your dinner, trust me they are not just a side dish anymore. There is also a recipe booklet that you can download on their site. 

Now that we are out of the lazy days of summer, I have to stay organized and plan so we get out the door on time in the mornings and get to bed on time at night. My number 2 tip for getting dinner on the table at night is to have meals planed for the week. When you plan your meals and have everything on hand it is so much easier to get dinner on the table. And make meals ahead of time when you know you have a busy night. I can imagine the stress of cooking dinner at 5:45 when we get home from dance class so I'll avoid that if possible. Plus if we don't eat dinner on time then we don't get to bed on time. This makes the next morning much harder since I'm dragging the kids out of bed instead of them waking up on their own. It's a vicious cycle to get trapped in and it's so easy to start that cycle.

What's my number 1 tip? Always keep a meal in the freezer or ingredients on hand to whip together a simple meal when life gets too crazy to cook. We all have hectic days that seem to get away from us, so having an easy solution to dinner is very helpful. Use one of the Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits recipes as your quick go to recipe for easy week night dinners.

  1. My kids current fave is Pillsbuery pizzas. You just cut each half in half, flatten it out, "decorate" your pizzas as usual and bake - super easy, super yummy & doesn't require me to have special dough on hand.

    1. That is a favorite in our family too! My kids actually put veggies on their pizzas occasionally which is quite the miracle with my oldest.
