Eczema Therapy from Aveeno

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for AVEENO. I received product samples to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Did you know that October is Eczema Awareness month? My son is one of the many kids who have eczema. My husband and I have tried many different products on our son hoping that it will go away. When we're diligent and apply treatment regularly, we see a huge improvement in his skin. But then we slack off and he has a flare up and we are applying creams and lotions again. His hands and chin are a constant battle though since he sucks his thumb. Even when his hands and face are clear, we still make sure we apply cream to prevent a flare up.

I tried the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Care Kit for adults on my son. Even though he's 3 and could still use baby products, I prefer to buy the adult version for him. They seem to work a little better. Plus my kids don't want to use anything baby related. They are big kids now and they're not afraid to tell me that!

I used the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Moisturizing Cream on my son's legs. He had several red, irritated, dry patches on his thighs that were really bothering him. After a week of using the cream his legs were healed. I tried it on my hands just to see how it felt and I liked that it wasn't greasy at all. So many Eczema products are very greasy which my son hates! I'm not a big fan of the greasy palms I'm left with after applying those creams either.

I tried the Aveeno Eczema Therapy Bath Treatment after we returned from a long weekend in Las Vegas. We went back for a visit for my brother's wedding and we returned with very dry skin! After living in the South for 5 months, our skin was no longer used to the desert climate. The first night back I used the bath treatment and their skin saw a dramatic improvement over night. I need to try it myself this winter when my skin dries out.

The Aveeno Eczema Therapy products are formulated with ACTIVE NATURALS® Colloidal Oatmeal, a recognized ingredient to relieve itching and soothe and moisturize skin. Personally I like that both the bath treatment and the cream are made from natural products. I've used other products in the past that have made my son's skin worse. In my experience products made with natural ingredients do not irritate his skin. I also like that it is fragrance free.
